The large magnet motor with a bumped back plate combined with a very long light weight 39mm copper clad aluminum wire voice coil allows excellent excursion (Xmax 22mm p/p) , low distortion and excellent transient responses. A heavy copper ring below the T-shaped pole piece significantly reduces non-linear and modulation distortion.

An extremely stiff and stable injection moulded metal basket keeps the critical components in perfect alignment, the large windows in the basket both above and below the spider reducing sound reflection, air flow noise and cavity resonance to a minimum.

This drive unit uses Seas SpiderRing® Technology, which consists of a ring, the spider, voice coil, lead out wires and terminal. All parts are perfectly matched and glued together. This component can be fixed to a magnet system, and enables the measurement of the impedance and test parameters - e.g. the resonance frequency, the damping in the spider, Re and voice coil inductance prior to assembly.
